On the 15th evening of this month, Small Town Film Club had its first screening amidst a small gathering of film-enthusiasts. The film to go down in history as the first one to be screened at Small Town Film Club is "Clouds " by Tenzing Dakpa . He is a fourth year student in Delhi College of Art. Also to attend the event, by sheer coincidence (and a pleasant one at that) was Pat Murphy . She is a director, writer and producer from Ireland and also teaches at a film school in Belfast. Her works include the film "Nora" which took 10 years in the making. It is a movie about James Joyce's wife and the relationship they had. The central characters are played by Susan Lynch and Ewan McGregor. With Pat's presence at the screening, our bookshop's literary connection to films was made! Unlike many other events put together by Friends at Rachna, the invitation was sent out almost only by word of mouth, and through this website. This perhaps heralds the new direction and seriousness we aspire for with an event, or rather a series of monthly events, that Small Town Film Club is. We hope that in time we have many more films that film-makers, both aspiring or established, would want to share in this part of the Himalaya. Thank you for making the first chapter of Small Town Film Club a successful one!
